Interior of a small apartment in modern style |

  • Living room

In the area of the metropolitan Dubrovka, five-story houses built in the 1920s. of the last century, harmoniously coexist with the environment: a conveniently planned territory, green courtyards with playgrounds. The “light breath” of these quarters somehow bears little resemblance to the harsh rhythms of the metropolis. I wanted to maintain this pleasant mood in the interiors, decorated in a modern style.

The customer set about arranging the former grandmother's apartment for her adult daughter, who was soon to be married. The layout included a studio, a separate bedroom, a combination of a separate bathroom and the arrangement of a large shower compartment instead of a bathtub. It was necessary to combine convenience and artistry in the atmosphere: a young woman likes to gather guests, and since she herself has been engaged in professional dances for a long time, a bit of temperament should have been present in the color scheme.

Various shades of red bring artistry to the calm atmosphere of the studio. Ceiling beam played as an art object

The previous layout is quite convenient: a regular rectangle with a pair of windows on two opposite sides (including one window was in the bathroom). From the current bedroom you can go to a small balcony. Inside the apartment there are two massive square-section load-bearing columns that I wanted to disguise.

To create a studio, the partition between the kitchen and the area where the living room is now located was removed, the wall between the hallway and the kitchen, on the contrary, was made solid (previously there was a door to the kitchen) and slightly shifted so that it became possible to build in a large closet. The gap between the hallway and the kitchen was left open. The bathroom was combined with the toilet, and the font was replaced with a spacious shower compartment.

In the kitchen, at the request of the customer, the oven was placed in a higher position than usual, so that it would be more convenient for the hostess to use it. The design of the apron echoes the tiling of the ceiling beam in the living room, which gave the decorative solutions logic and playful intonations

Wooden logs were dismantled up to reinforced concrete floors, a screed was made. New partitions were erected from foam blocks (because they did not know exactly the condition of the ceilings and did not want to load them). The floors in the living quarters were covered with parquet boards, in the hallway, bathroom and kitchen area – with porcelain tiles. The ceilings were lined with drywall. The windows were replaced, the window sills were made of artificial stone.

The protrusion of the supporting structure made it possible to make a convenient shallow rack in the niche, and from the side of the window they built another pandan for it. In the lower parts of both there are closed sections, next to the window there is also an air conditioner

The walls were partially painted and partially covered with wallpaper. The balcony was glazed, insulated, the flooring was replaced with new porcelain tiles, the walls were sheathed with plastic clapboard. Air conditioners were installed in the bedroom and hallway, external units were placed on the facade. Both interior doors are folding.

The chests of drawers in the bedroom were selected with an original, very embossed texture of wood. In combination with a silk bedspread, large-scale weaving of curtains, a diverse tactile range is created

The design combines discreet urban contemporary with elements of Scandinavian style and a slight touch of fusion. Wholeness to all interiors, a sense of spaciousness and depth are given by the overall color scheme and measured, calm rhythm in the arrangement of individual pieces of furniture and interior groups. Diverse, predominantly warm shades of gray create a harmonious background for bright accents; kitchen everyday details look like a neutral background in relation to the living area.

The window sill in the bathroom was combined with the countertop, the window slopes were finished with mosaics, the walls were pasted over with mirrors on both sides of the opening, ceiling lamps on long suspensions were attached above each – it turned out both elegant and practical. A washing machine was placed under the countertop, but at the request of the hostess, they did not close the door

We have already cooperated with the customer on two other objects, so the work on this project was carried out with full mutual understanding. Although in the houses and was in the 1970s. repairs were carried out with reconstruction, at the time the redevelopment began, everything was badly worn out and required a radical replacement. The future hostess saw the result after the turnkey apartment was handed over and was very pleased, including the fact that her desire to decorate the interior in lilac tones was transformed into a different color scheme built on shades of gray and red. A folding sofa was chosen for the living room – for late guests. Two of the four doors of the wardrobe in the hallway are mirrored – this technique visually expands the space.

Loft-style interior: brick walls and wooden furniture |

  • declarative loft brutality in design The ceiling of the studio is supported by copper tubes, in which the electrical wiring was partially removed

The apartment with a free layout was purchased by customers in a new building. For a comfortable life, it was supposed to create in it a large studio and two separate living rooms, two bathrooms and additional rooms for storage and washing. In addition to the obligatory brickwork of walls, exposed concrete structures and minimalist furnishings for a real loft, I wanted to bring natural warmth – finishing details and wooden furniture.

Lamps in the studio provide both general and local, chamber and comfortable lighting. For the latter, a floor lamp next to the sofa and technical lamps located above the bookcase

The outlines of the apartment resemble the letter P, there are no load-bearing partitions inside, a large loggia is integrated into the total volume of the dwelling. There are four windows in the interior, three of them are facing one side (moreover, two of them are on the loggia, the exit to which is provided from the middle opening), the fourth one is on the opposite side.

The studio was designed near the loggia, from which you can go into an almost square bedroom, from there there is an entrance to a large dressing room, and through it to the bathroom. Away from the windows, opposite the front door, there is a guest bathroom, a laundry room and a second dressing room adjacent to the end of the children's room. The connecting link between the latter and the studio is an L-shaped hallway-corridor, the doors of auxiliary rooms open into it.

A deep sofa with fabric upholstery, although it does not unfold, can serve as a comfortable sleeping place for guests. Its massive frame, covered with the same fabric, is decorated with fine stitching, which creates a rhythmic echo with the “laying” of the walls

Since the apartment is new, I had to perform a screed. To install the convectors, the floor level was raised to the appropriate height. New partitions were erected from tongue-and-groove blocks and bricks (where it was necessary, for example, in the bathroom – a solid load-bearing wall was required to install the hinged washbasin stand).

The kitchen island on the side of the working area is equipped with drawers for dishes, on the other side there is a niche for the convenience of sitting on bar stools

Reinforced concrete ceiling slabs were left exposed, only cleaned and covered with a fixing varnish. Above them is electrical wiring, partially hidden in copper tubes. In auxiliary rooms, the level of the ceilings was slightly lowered with the help of drywall. The apartment was equipped with a multi-split air conditioning system, external units were installed on the balcony. Finishing work was done in the loggia, lamps were attached.

Curtain guides are hidden behind the cornices under the ceiling. A variety of lighting scenarios was provided by a chandelier, bedside table lamps and an unusual sconce on a swivel pantograph with a long holder, which is convenient to deploy in any direction and at any angle

Almost ascetic color palette (white, gray, sepia and ocher shades), orthogonal clarity of the layout create a well-balanced graphic pattern, which, however, is filled with an atmosphere with various shades of mood. The secret of this transformation is in the skillful combination of planes of different textures, in a diverse lighting scenario, mostly “atmospheric”, with soft local transitions.

Strict and minimalist forms of overall pieces of furniture are calculated in such a way as to avoid unnecessary detailing – for example, the smooth facades of kitchen modules reach the ceiling, although in fact the gap above their upper border is covered with a panel painted in the same shade. Variety is created by the combination of painted wall surfaces with a non-uniform texture of concrete, with wood (a parquet board panel in the corridor), with textured brick walls and black metal of slopes, with horizontal slats of wooden blinds.

The wooden entrance door with a barn drive mechanism echoes other expressive wooden details in the bedroom; behind it, according to the enfilade principle, there is an entrance to the bathroom and a door to the shower compartment

A real loft should have a rather brutal character, and textured natural materials, including those with traces of time and emphatically man-made, piece ones, optimally match it. Therefore, for example, the headboard was made to order from a specially selected massif of mountain elm with a slightly uneven natural edge.

The saw cut, made to size, after appropriate processing, took its place as a headboard. Bedside tables are made of old English parquet. An unusual table was also created for the bedroom with a tabletop made from a gate found in an abandoned village area: the boards were carefully restored and placed under transparent glass, the table frame was made of welded metal. The low coffee table in the living room is made of aged wood.

    < p class="article-img-from">

From the hallway, you can enter the laundry room, which follows the same minimalist rules as the main rooms. The exception is the bright color of the countertop. Above it is a cabinet with electric sensors

The most iconic feature of the modern loft has become exposed brickwork (in this case, clinker bricks) or its imitation. This is not surprising: the first lofts were located on the territory of former factory buildings, built, as a rule, at the end of the 19th century. from brick. However, other signs of this “masculine” style are often forgotten: high ceilings, interiors without partitions, in which sometimes only a bathroom is separated from the common room. Huge windows are characteristic – the main advantage of industrial premises, and this subsequently made the lofts so attractive for the equipment of artists' workshops in them. Technical communications are often visible (the finishing that hides them costs extra) and even accentuated. ” />

The sofa bed provides a comfortable setting for watching TV or playing games. The color of the sofa upholstery is matched to the nightstand-chest of drawers. A large desk is pushed up against the window

The teenage boy actively participated in the discussion of the design of his room – it was at his request that a panel with a skateboarder was made, he also suggested decorating the guest bathroom with graffiti-patterned tiles. The console table for the hallway was made by the owner of the apartment himself. Window slopes are made of an uncharacteristic material – ferrous sheet metal, which comes with small edges on the walls, firmly fixing the brickwork. In the event that hot water was turned off, a water heater was installed in the utility room – they made an eyeliner to the guest bathroom from it. In the bathroom, the water heater is hidden behind the sanitary cabinet doors.

    Types and applications
    Pros and cons
    Differences from acrylic
    Instructions for use
    Tips optional

    What is acrylate paint

Acrylates are used for exterior and interior finishing. Restrictions in use are minimal: they are suitable for processing all materials except plastic.

They are delivered ready-made and can be applied both with hand painting tools and with a spray gun. The choice of a specific option depends on the architecture of the building and the type of finish.

    Types of acrylate paints

Various types of acrylate copolymer dispersion formulations impart unique properties to the finished product. Water-based formulations are standardized and represented by the following brands.

    Composition groups and scope

    • AK-1180. Resistant to frost, sudden changes in temperature, precipitation, belongs to the category of facade. However, the scope of application is not limited to exterior decoration. Can be used to paint interior walls and ceilings. The only limitation in use is that it is not suitable for the floor, it quickly cracks. Drying time – 1 hour.
    • AK-2180. Designed for interior decoration of walls, ceilings, wallpaper for painting. After application, breathability is not lost, due to the porous structure of the layer. Suitable for painting surfaces in the bedroom, nursery and living room. Drying time is 24 hours.
    • AK-111. Due to the latex, which is included in the composition, this paintwork material is characterized by increased mechanical and frost resistance. It is mainly used for fine finishing of facades of buildings. With proper application, it will last up to 5 years without losing its original properties and appearance. Dries in 1 hour provided that the ambient temperature is +20°C.
    • AK-114. Differs in the increased moisture resistance. It is allowed to use for finishing facades, interior walls in rooms with high humidity (kitchen, bathroom). Drying takes 1 hour.
    • AK-101. It is used to cover porous surfaces: brickwork, concrete, drywall. Protects against mechanical damage and atmospheric precipitation, while the layer remains breathable, which allows painting wooden structures.
    • AK-449. Specially designed for painting concrete or wood floors. Does not emit hazardous compounds, resistant to abrasion. Made from materials that do not support combustion. Dries within 3 hours of application.

Interior in the style of minimalism: a fantasy about the future |

  • Kitchen-living room

The Larin family from Domodedovo fulfilled their dream – they bought an apartment in a monolithic house according to an individual project, and not a simple one, but a two-story one (in fact, these are two odnushki united by a staircase). And since they have such an unusual space, then the interior needs an appropriate one: stylish, modern, but at the same time cozy.

Their field of activity is related to aviation, so they would like this topic to be reflected in the project. But the main thing is that there are two daughters in the family, whose comfort and safety come first. The owners had no idea how to plan the apartment in order to carve out a place for each family member and provide for a common space, how to correctly use the height of the ceilings (3.8 m) on the second floor. Therefore, they asked the editors to help in solving these difficult tasks.

    Entrance hall

After the redevelopment, a single space of the entrance hall, living room and kitchen will appear on the first level, and the bedrooms will be located on the second. On the ground floor, all non-bearing partitions are demolished, only the boundaries of the bathroom will not change. The interior is designed in the spirit of minimalism and functionalism with a matching neutral color scheme and purple accents.

The second floor is completely remodeled. The small parent bedroom will be equipped with a walk-in closet, allowing you to do without a large closet. As desired by the customers, much attention is paid to the design of the nursery for two girls. In this room, the sleeping area is separated from the work area with the help of beds installed on the podium, which also visually adjusts the proportions of the room. True, at first the owners will have to get used to a non-standard solution. The beds will be placed along the walls, which will free up the center of the room. A staircase leads to the meticulously planned mezzanine level, under which storage space is provided.

    Kitchen-living room

< p>The neutral palette will be diluted with a few accents (pillows and a tiled apron) of purple-lilac shades. The glossy tile of the backsplash laid in a snake is organically combined with textured brick walls and decorative concrete-like plaster. And the bio-fireplace will create coziness in a “cold” contrasting space.

The open space under the stairs will visually enlarge the room. Practical LED lighting under the steps, which turns on together with motion sensors, will become an original accent.

The cosmically sterile kitchen is a kind of fantasy about the future of aviation: a futuristic hood, a metal refrigerator, inconspicuous lamps, a furniture set with snow-white facades. The composition will be balanced by a parquet floor and a dynamic apron.

The authors of the project rationally use every meter of usable area. For example, the play area was placed above the main staircase. The room elongated upwards will visually adjust large interior items. A cheerful mood is created with the help of bright colors, decorative partitions with round elements resembling soap bubbles, and airy pendant lights.

In order to hide communications, the ceiling in the bathroom will be partially lowered, which will give a graphic look to the room. Large wood-like wall tiles are interrupted in places by mosaic inserts that turn into backlighting. This creates a play of light and shadow in the room.

To visually unload a small room, they will install hanging cabinets and a dressing table that will seem to soar in space. Bright yellow spots of decor break into the neutral color range of the interior. The head of the bed will form a composition of soft square tiles, randomly rushing to the ceiling, which will give the room dynamism.

The design of the hall on the second floor is based on a combination of light and planes. The triangles on the wall will flow into the volume on the ceiling, breaking the space. Light rustication will complement the composition. Brickwork will connect this room with the interiors of the ground floor.

A laconic bathroom will decorate a wall cabinet for useful small things imitating a picture. The aviation theme will be continued by alternating lines of different shades of blue on the walls of the room, a wall-mounted toilet and a glass partition.

    Strengths Weaknesses of the project
A mezzanine play floor has been created. A podium in the nursery is an unsafe solution.
The bedrooms have a dressing room and mezzanine storage. The storage system for clothes and shoes has not been thought out in the hallway.
The space under the stairs in the nursery is used for storage. In the studio on the first floor, a powerful exhaust and an appropriate inflow are needed air.
A stairway with no risers adds airiness to the small ground floor space.
Kitchen furniture is located at an angle, which is convenient for cooking.
Wear-resistant materials are used in the hallway.

The editors warn that, in accordance with the Housing Code of the Russian Federation, the coordination of ongoing reconstructions and redevelopments is required.

    Pros and cons
    Types< br>Production process
    Types of reinforcement
Weight and density of the material
    How to increase adhesion

    What is reinforced concrete

The material has high resistance to changing climate conditions. It differs from the usual greater resistance to compression and allowable stretching. To do this, rods are introduced into the composition, which will increase the resistance. Be sure to tension the reinforcement in any way – chemical, electrothermal or mechanical.

    Why concrete is reinforced

The solution without a steel structure after hardening ceases to be plastic, therefore it begins to crack with any serious impact on it .

If the foundation is poured with a concrete mixture, then when exposed to the force of frost heaving from the ground, the site will begin to deform. The same happens with an uneven load on the plate. Any deformation that creates a tension zone on one side of an object and a compression zone on the other increases the risk of cracking. This is the main reason for reinforcement. The steel creates a framework that will distribute the load and resist stretching.

What is alabaster: properties, applications, varieties |

Alabaster is a subspecies of gypsum, a type of natural stone with the addition of minerals , semi-aqueous composition CaSO4•0.5H2O. One of the popular building materials.

  • Gypsum stone can be crushed and heat treated at a temperature of about 180 degrees. According to its properties, the resulting mixture is quite solid. The period of its drying after dilution is only 5 minutes, unlike a number of other finishing materials.

    What is alabaster

    Pros and cons
    Differences from gypsum

    What is alabaster for

After we understand what alabaster is, we will talk about the application. The material is diluted with water and it turns out to be elastic, which allows it to be used for construction purposes. Due to its water resistance and excellent soundproofing properties, the mixture is used at different stages of finishing work, for the manufacture of drywall, leveling walls and other purposes.

Even when applying a thick layer, the risk of cracking is minimized. The light subspecies of gypsum is quite stable, so the scope of alabaster is wide.

Fields of application of the material

    • Dealing with cosmetic defects Suitable for repairing chips and cracks on ceilings, walls, and other surfaces.
    • Preparation for the finish coating. In addition to rooms with normal humidity, the mixture is also used in bathrooms. The only condition is no contact with water and processing with a finishing lining.
    • For mounting sockets and other electrical work. As a result, it is possible to securely fix the cable and sockets.
    • Interior decoration.

Experts identify several of its key features.

    • Suitable for surface treatment with light loads.
    • Lays flat with a spatula.
    • Hardens without loss of volume or shrinkage.
    • Low weight.
    • High soundproofing and water resistance
    • < li>The main benefit is sustainability.

    Pros and cons

What does alkyd enamel mean and how does it differ from paint

Often these two terms are used as synonyms, which is only acceptable in colloquial speech. When buying a product, you need to distinguish between these concepts. Paint is a film-forming mixture. It is diluted with organic solvents. It is necessary, first of all, to improve cosmetic performance, that is, color changes. Enamel has a much more complex structure. It has a whole set of functional parameters. Instead of drying oil, which forms the film, it contains resins, water-dispersion components, varnishes, metal oxides and fluorides. It dries faster than paint, but it also protects against external factors.

    What is reinforced tape

Reinforced tape – This is a special material that reinforces, strengthens the working surfaces. It has two key properties – flexibility and strength.

    Where it is used

Flexibility allows you to mount the material on uneven areas, strengthen corners, air ducts and housings, glue joints, waterproof pipes. Durability ensures that the result of the repair will last longer. Therefore, this material has become key in plastering work. Masters lay AL under a layer of plaster, at the joints and in the corners of the walls to prevent the appearance of deformations. The solution impregnates the mesh structure of the canvas, due to this, an additional area for fastening is created. In addition, reinforcing tape acts as a “frame”, which prevents the plaster from spreading and cracking.

It is critical to use this material when working with gypsum boards – then the surface will be smooth and uniform.

What else is reinforced tape used for:

    • Aligning walls and ceilings, preparing for decorative work.
    • Waterproofing, vapor barrier, thermal insulation of pipes.
    • Protection of various elements from moisture and high temperatures.
    • Installation of exhaust systems, ventilation, air conditioners.
    • Insulation and bundled wires.
    • Short-term connection of the joints of coatings (for example, for “trying on” linoleum, carpet).
    • Installation of building fences.
    • Minor repairs (gluing rubber hoses, plastic pipes, fittings).
    • Sealing boxes and bags.

Reinforced tape is also used in automotive work and household repairs, and its approximate view – as in the photo.

    What is concrete screed

A cement-sand floor screed, as a rule, serves as an intermediate layer between rough flooring and subsequent finishing. In some cases, it acts as a finishing surface, for example, in a garage. In buildings that are not intended for living, the floor is simply covered with concrete, even without subsequent painting.

It is difficult to imagine a complete repair in any room without preparing the base, on which its durability and strength depend. At the same time, it does not matter at all what will be used in the future for coating – linoleum, parquet, boards or laminate. The concrete base for the floor is suitable for all types of repair work, both in industry and in residential areas.

What is a concrete screed for?

    It performs the following functions.

    • Leveling the deck.
    • Giving stability to loads.
    • Slope control.
    • Closing utilities.
    • Increasing heat and soundproofing.
